Brennan Burtker LLC’s mission is to become the full-service law firm for each of our health care clients and the litigation firm of choice for all our clients.
In 2015, the firm opened its doors as Brennan Garvey LLC to fulfill Mark Brennan’s and Cathy Garvey’s vision of creating a law firm with a foundation built on hard work, dedication and respect. The following year, Cathy accepted the Associate General Counsel position at one of the nation’s leading academic medical institutions.
Today, the firm continues its dedication to delivering the highest quality legal services to our clients under the name Brennan Burtker LLC.
Why We're Different

For example, in March 2020, Partners Mark Brennan, Rachel Stern and Jonathan Cavins tried a case where the plaintiff requested from the jury $50 million in damages. Despite a controversial finding of negligence against the firm’s client by a motion judge, the team won a not guilty verdict. Year after year since its founding, the Brennan Burtker trial lawyers have secured defense verdicts on behalf of their clients in some of the most challenging cases tried in Northern Illinois.
