Stephanie M. Schumacher
Stephanie M. Schumacher is an associate attorney at Brennan Burtker LLC, where she concentrates her practice in medical malpractice defending hospitals, medical groups, and physicians. Ms. Schumacher has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, including pre-suit investigation, all aspects of discovery, dispositive motion practice, and jury trials to verdict. She also represents healthcare professionals in personal tort matters, including IDFPR matters.
Ms. Schumacher received the award of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in 2026 and was recognized by Leading Lawyers as an Emerging Lawyer in Medical Malpractice Defense Law in 2026.
Ms. Schumacher joined the firm in September 2023. Prior to joining Brennan Burtker, she was an Associate at a boutique law firm, where she successfully represented clients in medical malpractice, wrongful death, and civil rights matters.
Ms. Schumacher received her Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School in 2019 with a certificate in Trial Advocacy. While in law school, Ms. Schumacher was a member of Moot Court Honors Council, a Dean’s Scholarship Recipient, and she participated in the DePaul University College of Law “The Theory and Practice of European Law” study abroad program in Madrid, Spain. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2019.
Ms. Schumacher earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Arizona in 2013. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society (CHRMS).
