Earlier this year, the Louisiana Court of Appeals cited Partner Anthony J. Longo’s co-authored article, “A Palpable Conflict,” 108 Ill.B.J.26 (2020). In Dunn vs. Regional Transit Authority, 2025 WL 762184, the Louisiana Court of Appeals wrestled with the issue of whether the palpable error exception to the law that case doctrine applied to allow for reconsideration of whether the three-year prescriptive period for deferred compensation applied on remand. The Court endeavored to define how palpable error differentiated from other types of error. In so doing, the Court of Appeals cited and quoted at length from Mr. Longo’s article discussing the palpable error exception to the law of the case doctrine in Illinois. The firm congratulates Mr. Longo on this recognition.
