Brennan Burtker LLC congratulates Partner Lee Williams and Associate Elizabeth Polit on securing a defense verdict on behalf of their client, a hospital, after a 3-week multi-party medical malpractice trial before Judge Gerald Cleary in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. Plaintiff claimed the hospital failed to have a policy in place for communicating unexpected abnormal pathology results to patients and physicians. Consequently, Plaintiff claimed her cancer was not treated causing a recurrence. The Defense argued the hospital had a proper procedure in place for communicating such pathology results in accordance with the standard of care.  Plaintiff asked the jury for $55,000,000. The Jury returned a verdict of not guilty for the defense.
